Weymouth Precision Engineers provides high quality CNC machined components that exceed customer expectations through our commitment to quality, cost and delivery.We are constantly investing in high quality, modern CNC machines to stay versatile for our customers.

Products can be machined from all types of materials and when required items can be polished, plated or painted prior to delivery.
Pre-production planning is carried out to a high level by the Engineering department which includes comprehensive manufacturing instructions. Emphasis is placed upon understanding the customer’s requirements at the quote stage and more importantly at the contract review stage.

Assembly services are also offered so we can offer the customer the complete package from start to finish. We also offer JIT and KANBAN based manufacturing solutions for our clients.

Weymouth Precision Engineers History


The Company was formed in 1964 by the late Doug Loy, as a first class engineering sub-contract manufacturer, and has developed its reputation for providing first class service with customer satisfaction with Quality at the forefront. The company changed ownership in 1984 having been purchased by Mick Plunkett and Dave Smith, Clive Rowsell joined in 1995 as the third working director.

2013 has brought further change as from February, Weymouth Precision Engineers Ltd have been under the new ownership of David Wilson and management of Grant Leighton and Darren Bishop. Now the company is entering exciting times and will be looking to grow their customer base gaining new approvals and continue to provide an excellent service.

David Wilson is highly qualified and extremely competent machinist, team leader and is the new Managing Director, leaving Grant and Darren in charge of sales and general management.

Grant Leighton has over 40 years’ experience in the industry having worked at some of the top companies on the Granby Industrial Estate and most recently was the managing director and owner of FGP Precision Engineering Ltd, a very successful local company for 24 years.

Darren Bishop brings a wealth of knowledge from 20 years in the industry working with prime contractors within MOD, Aerospace, Oil and Gas.

They all have experience in the engineering industry including Aerospace, Automotive, Nuclear and Hydraulics sectors and the future plans are to expand the company with as many varied industries as possible.

The Management have brought a renewed enthusiasm through the company, the continuing commitment for improvement and flexibility are the keys to the future of this vibrant company.

We have been fortunate to have kept the experience of Dave Smith (Workshop Manager) and Clive Rowsell (Estimator) and to have inherited a totally committed workforce of such high calibre. Not only are they highly skilled in their various trades, they have a pride in what they produce. Implementing lean manufacturing processes to achieve the quality, cost and delivery that our customers expect and demand.

We continue to welcome our customers, old and new and will be delighted to demonstrate our new manufacturing facility. Constructed late 2015 and opened In February 2016 by Mr Richard Drax MP, Weymouth Precision Engineers moved in to their brand new purpose built premises.

The 10,000 square feet (930 square metres) of freehold bespoke manufacturing space is now home to our 30 highly skilled operatives, management and support staff. The future is bright as we continue to build on the excellent foundations of our heritage.

With the construction of the new company headquarters, Weymouth Precision Engineers will continue to improve customer services and also offer extra opportunities for their staff in an excellent working environment. This includes new staff training facilities, improved canteen area and meeting\conference room.
